Custom services include carding, spinning, and technical editing.
Custom blends of my fiber:
- Basic blends: commercially dyed fiber, mostly corriedale, with or without sparkly nylon
- Mixed blends: some commercially dyed fiber, some handdyed fiber, may include silk, available with or without sparkle
- Premium blends: mostly handdyed fiber, may include more silk, available with or without sparkle
Prices vary approximately from $8.50-11/oz, depending on the blend and the quantity. There is a minimum of 3 oz for custom carding.
Custom carding normally has a turn-around time of 1-14 days, depending on factors such as quantity, drying time for custom dyes, and other workload.
Custom spinning:
I can spin either my fiber or customer-supplied fiber on request. I charge a base rate of $15/hr for spinning what the fiber defaults to, generally a somewhat lofty/woollen 2-ply or 3-ply.
Technical Editing:
Tech editing of knitting patterns is $25/hr, with a minimum of 1 hr. Please inquire for further details. (Editing of other documents (but not crochet patterns) is also available.)
